Monstra Inter
The living, the dead, and the monsters in between.
One day, humanity is hurled into chaos as zombies appear throughout the world. These new monsters will chase for miles, they'll stalk and hide in ambush; they don't eat or drink; their singular goal is to spread the infection to everyone – and everything – in their path. The few people who make it through the initial wave struggle to survive in this horrifying new reality. Will anyone learn to live in this new world? Or will this be the end of humankind?
The story follows several different characters in their fight for survival as these cunning and quick new monsters take over the world. Abigail tries to find her family. Nathaniel seeks shelter. Charlie stands her ground and refuses to leave her farm. Evie and Eric face challenges they'd never dreamed of. Brad and his father head west, as far from civilization as they can get. Paths cross and intertwine. Who will make it out alive? Who won't? And who will end up as the monsters in between?

Characters and Locations
Not all characters or locations from the book are included in this list.
Note: There are some mild spoilers in this section. If you'd prefer to avoid them, this is your cue to skip this section.
Abigail
Nicknames: Abby, Ab
Approximate age: upper 20s to lower 30s
Location when the outbreak happened: Southeastern Oklahoma
Family/friends mentioned in the story:
Brother: Jake
Mom: Marlene
Dad: Dale
Weapon of choice: Aluminum baseball bat
Trivia: Monstra Inter originally started out as a short term serial story on Reddit. Abigail was the only POV character at that time. The early version of her story is still available on Reddit, but I changed it quite a bit when I decided to turn the story into a book.
Charlotte
Nicknames: Charlie (if you know what's good for you, you won't let her hear you call her Charlotte)
Approximate age: Upper 60s
Location when the outbreak happened: Southwestern Kansas
Family/friends mentioned in the story:
Husband: Isaiah (deceased)
Cat: Tom
Weapon of choice: Shotgun and pistol
Trivia: Charlie's character was loosely inspired by my grandpa. He was a farmer (although he had a lot more cows than Charlie). He also had honeybees when I was really little. Whenever a cow of his had a young calf, the cow was called "Mama." Many of his male barn cats over the years were called "Tom."
Nathaniel
Nicknames: Nate
Approximate age: early 20s
Location when the outbreak happened: Eastern Missouri
Family/friends mentioned in the story:
roommate: Aaron
Weapon of choice: fireman's axe
Trivia: When I went to write this part of the story, I spent far too much time researching what the inside of a fire station might look like. Is there one standard look for a fire station building? No. Did my version of the building need to be super accurate? Also, no. Why did I spend so much time researching it? No idea.
Brad
Approximate age: mid 20s
Location when the outbreak happened: Southwestern Kansas
Family mentioned in the story:
Dad: Melvin
Girlfriend: Joan
Weapon of choice: sledgehammer
Trivia: Brad was a fairly late addition to the story. It was originally going to focus on Melvin and Brad was just going to be the son he couldn't save when the outbreak hit. Or maybe Melvin would be fighting to get back to Brad after the outbreak hit. Either way, Brad wasn't really going to be featured in the story.
Eric & Evie (twins)
Approximate age: 10
Location when the outbreak happened: Central Colorado
Family mentioned in the story:
Dad: Leland
Weapon of choice: Whatever they can get ahold of, but they prefer to run or hide rather than fight
Trivia: I think I may have enjoyed writing Eric and Evie's parts the most. Adults might stand a reasonable chance if they are willing to fight or run. But what about a kid? It was interesting trying to think of how a defenseless (but resourceful) child might handle these scenarios that they'd be so ill-equipped for.
